The mosque is currently undergoing a two-story reconstruction project that began in September 2022, with a budget of Rp 3.4 billion. The expansion was necessitated by overcrowding during Friday prayers, which previously required temporary seating arrangements outside the main prayer hall. Funding sources include community donations, mosque treasury, religious leaders, Baznas Jawa Tengah, and the Central Java Religious Affairs Office. As of the last update, construction progress was at 15% with 28% of funding collected. The project is being designed and executed by local residents of Penaruban.
