Pahang is Malaysia’s largest state by land area, stretching from the forested highlands of the Titiwangsa Range to the long eastern coastline along the South China Sea. Islam is deeply woven into daily life here, with the sound of the azan marking the rhythm of towns and villages alike. For a Muslim traveller, the state offers a familiar ease: masjids are found in nearly every settlement, from coastal fishing villages to inland plantation towns, and halal food is the norm rather than the exception.

The areas covered in this directory reflect the state’s diversity. In Kuantan, the state capital, and coastal Balok, you will find a strong community presence with dozens of masjids and a wide range of halal eateries. Inland, towns like Bentong and Karak sit along the route to Genting Highlands, where the cooler climate draws visitors to strawberry farms and hill resorts. Further south, Mentakab and Temerloh are known as the heart of the Pahang River valley, while Jerantut serves as a gateway to Taman Negara, one of the world’s oldest rainforests.

For the Muslim visitor, Pahang is a place where Islamic heritage and everyday convenience sit side by side. Whether you are passing through on the way to the highlands, stopping for a meal in a small town, or exploring the natural wonders of the interior, you will find masjids and halal businesses within easy reach. The listings here, covering 866 masjids and 885 halal businesses, give a practical sense of how widespread these facilities are across the state.
