  3. 3

    Annajmus saaqib

    Fal yanzuril insaanu mimma khuliq

    Wassamaaa'i zaatir raj'

Demi langit yang berulang-ulang mencurahkan hujan,

  12. 12

    Wal ardi zaatis sad'

Dan bumi yang merekah mengeluarkan tumbuh-tumbuhan,

  13. 13

    Innahoo laqawlun fasl

    Wa maa huwa bil hazl

Dan bukanlah ia kata-kata yang olok-olok.

  15. 15

    Innahum yakeedoona kaidaa

Sesungguhnya mereka (yang menentangmu, wahai Muhammad) bermati-mati menjalankan rancangan jahat,

  16. 16

    Wa akeedu kaidaa

Dan Aku pula tetap bertindak membalas rancangan jahat (mereka, dan menggagalkannya).

  17. 17

    Famahhilil kaafireena amhilhum ruwaidaa

1. Introduction to Surah At-Tariq

Surah At-Tariq is the 86th chapter of the Noble Quran, consisting of 17 short yet profoundly impactful verses. Revealed during the early Makkan period, this beautiful chapter immediately captures the listener's attention by drawing powerful parallels between the vast, mysterious cosmos and the internal reality of human existence. The word At-Tariq itself is translated as "The Night-Comer" or "The Piercing Star," referring to a brilliant celestial body that cuts through the deep darkness of the night sky, symbolizing how divine truth cuts through human ignorance.

During the time this chapter was revealed, the early Muslims in Makkah faced immense emotional and physical challenges from opponents of Islam. In this historical context, learning about Surah At-Tariq served as a profound source of comfort, reassurance, and validation for believers. By highlighting the ultimate power of Allah over creation, resurrection, and human destiny, this chapter reminds us that no human action goes unnoticed and that the truth of the Creator will always prevail over temporary worldly hardships.

2. Key Themes and Lessons of Surah At-Tariq

As we dive deeper into the rhythmic verses of Surah At-Tariq, we uncover several core themes that can transform how we view our purpose in this world:

  • Divine Accountability and Protection: The chapter opens with a solemn oath by the heavens and the piercing star, establishing that every single human soul has a guardian angel assigned over it to record actions, ensuring that nothing we do is ever lost or forgotten.
  • The Miracle of Human Creation: Allah commands mankind to reflect upon their humble beginnings, reminding us that we were created from a fluid ejected. This serves as a logical proof that the Creator who brought us into existence from nothing can easily resurrect us on the Day of Judgment.
  • The Revealing of Secrets: A central message of Surah At-Tariq is the reminder of a day when all hidden thoughts, intentions, and secrets will be thoroughly examined and laid bare, leaving mankind with no personal power or worldly helpers.
  • The Absolute Truth of the Quran: The text describes the Quran as a decisive word that separates truth from falsehood, rather than a matter of amusement or trivial poetry.
  • The Ultimate Divine Plan: The chapter concludes by reassuring believers that while the disbelievers design complex plots against the truth, Allah is also executing a perfect plan, advising the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to be patient and grant them a little time.

4. How to Apply Surah At-Tariq to Your Daily Life

Bringing the lessons of Surah At-Tariq into your daily routine does not require drastic changes, but rather a conscious shift in your everyday awareness. Start by practicing intentionality; before you perform any action, take a brief moment to check your heart and purify your hidden motives. Since this chapter teaches us that our secrets will one day be revealed, make it a daily habit to seek forgiveness for your private shortcomings and strive to make your private life just as beautiful and upright as your public life.

Another practical application is to cultivate patience and deep trust in Allah's timing when facing personal injustices or professional setbacks.
